Therapy sessions are typically 60-minutes in length and the client is encouraged to come prepared to discuss their issues in order to be most efficient with the amount of time given for their appointment. The client can feel free to take notes or bring a tape recorder to help remember what was worked on during the session.

The initial appointment is a 60-minute diagnostic psychological evaluation, with a fee of $225. 
*This fee will include psychological testing, rating scales, and the time needed for scoring and interpreting scores. The initial fee does not include any report writing that may be part of a more specialized evaluation at the client's request. 

The fee for the additional 60-minute sessions is $150. 
*Payment is expected at the time services are provided and a receipt will be given to the client for their records or to submit to their insurance company. The client is responsible for determining what, if any, insurance benefits they may have that cover psychological services. Contacting the insurance company prior to scheduling an appointment is encouraged. Feel free to ask questions regarding payment or insurance policies at any time.
If an appointment must be canceled and/or rescheduled, Dr. Stranges asks that he be provided at least a 24-hour advanced notice. Voicemails may be left to cancel an appointment. If an appointment is missed with less than a 24-hour notice, the client will be billed $60. The appointment scheduled is for the client and cannot be used for anyone else without adequate notice. 

Voicemails left from clients are returned within 36 hours, except on weekends and holidays when messages are returned at the beginning of the normal work week.

In the event of a psychiatric emergency requiring immediate medical attention, please contact the emergency room at Cape Regional Hospital, Shore Memorial Hospital, Atlantic City Medical Center, or dial 9-1-1.

Confidentiality in counseling sessions is protected by law and can be ensured in sessions with Dr. Stranges as well. However it should be noted that there are instances where confidentiality rights over personal information cannot be protected, including incidents involving child abuse, harming oneself, or harming someone else. In those incidents, licensed psychologists are bound by law to break confidentiality and report the information to the appropriate authorities. Concerns about limits of confidentiality may be discussed with Dr. Stranges.
